I found reader 4 raised lots of important questions that with hopefully lead me on to discovering an interesting and challenging line of inquiry.
At the moment though all I have is mish mash of questions on a note pad without any real specific outcome in mind.
The section on identifying skills and knowledge in the workplace inspired me to come up with my own 'inter-disciplinary' spider-diagram.
In today's ever changing society people can be who they want to be, they have choice.
With so many opportunities available it's rare for people to stay in the same line of work for there entire lives.
It's important to have transferable skills and it's interesting to think about different jobs that require similar skills. An actor and a lawyer for example will have very varied training methods, but both jobs require research, charisma, the ability to perform, confidence, public speaking skills, commitment....
My acting training has been a great foundation for my teaching career but there is so much more to teaching than teaching! I no in the future I will need to learn about assessments, data, schemes of work. I hope to do my teacher training through the schools direct program rather than the PGCE. I feel I'd benefit from more WBL course. I think that relates back to the type of learner and person I am.
So on with my questions, as I mentioned there a bit of a random mix at the moment. This probably reflects the crossroad I'm at with acting and teaching so hopefully the process will help me out personally too!
I look forward to your response.
